The meet is settling in right now, at Saratoga we saw that Early Speed types held an advantage.  Watch for some of the come from behind horses – especially the youngs – to be better bets next out, while the speed demons might be over-bet and under-performing on their comebacks.  I love the pundits of this game who declare horses to be world beaters and then spend little or no time doing the necessary pivot when their opinions are shown to be invalid.  Today on Race Day Ralph asked me about Executive Privelege at Del Mar and wanted to know if he was a “free bingo square?”   Let me start by saying she ran a fine race and was a good winner, she looked exactly like a thousand 3/1 shots winning her race, but her odds were an awful 2/5.  As it happenned I had a STAR and an equal ratingn Speedingthetruth who ran Executive P to a hard fought decision…  I liked my 10/1 odds and I’m perfectly happy being 2nd in this heat, 1st was a definate maybe…
