Thursday’s (8-16-2018) Power Page and PLUS for Saratoga and Del Mar are ready for download…

Let’s Remember:

I was reminded, on Race Day Las Vegas, today that Elvis passed away some 41 years ago on this very day.  Then, when I got off the air, I saw that Aretha had passed away today.  Elvis has often been referred to as “The King” and Aretha was always referred to as “The Queen of Soul”.   Surely, it’s true, they both ruled!

I am amazed at this coincidence, the odds are 365/1 that these two amazing artists would pass on the same day!  Do you think someone is trying to tell us something?

Horse Racing:

Okay…. I said Okay… we had a proper day at Del Mar with 4 STar horse all running very well with Square Peggy getting the win at $11.60 and heading up our exacta that paid $115/$2.00.  And Powerful Thirst (16/1) and Go Ghetto (3.5/1)  running hard to the wire to get the PLACE… putting us in position to cash throughout the card.

Also 2 of 2 with V horses hitting the exotic…  Again both big prices that would be Night Time Inc at 25/1 in the 4th and Sneaking Out (12.5/1) getting 2nd in the 6th …

I am thinking I am getting back on track at Del Mar… while at Saratoga I was just so-so on Wednesday.  But I am thinking this has something to do with the very changeable weather we have had so far and should start to go our way as the weather maintains…

Now on to some important horse racing discussion.  We simply have to notice the amazing race run by Carrick to defeat Analyze It in the Secretariat this weekend and run  more than a full second faster than the older colts in the Arlington Million… that’s more than a full second faster!   Now we understand that the pace was a little livelier in the Secretariat and I suppose that Robert Bruce could have run a faster race if he had a better pace to run at.  Sure maybe that’s true or MAYBE IT AIN’T!  But whatever you want to say about Robert Bruce and Almanaar… they were more than a full second behind Carrick and Analyze It and plenty behind Bandua, Paltinum Warrior, Captivating Moon, Ming and Untamed Domain… all 3-year olds…

Come on… let’s give it up for Carrick and Analyze It.  All I want to say is INCREDIBLE!
