Help is needed!

I assume that anyone who visits this site or listens to us on radio, loves horses. But we all have to understand their is great personal effort, by ordinary people, to care for our valiant contestants – the horses.  After the horific fire at San Luis Rey Downs, many grooms and assistants lost much of their belongings and there were those that were severely hurt.  Many lost their loved horses, while for many others their way of life and livelihood are seriously affected…

“Race Day Las Vegas” Plays

Friday’s

Two plays at Aqueduct, both ran okay, neither ran well enough to win.  The first play was Daring Prospect in the 3rd, amazingly this horse went off as the fav at a intense UNDERLAY of Even Money… and I pray nobody who listened to me bet this horse at that price… as I said on the show, this is a great play as the 2nd choice… I would add here (and would have on the show if alotta the proper time) that it’s not worth playing as the chalk…  In fact, there are no good plays from me on anything that is odds on!

Moi ran in the 3rd, and was pretty good, but the winner was fabulous…

Saturday’s

My first play at Aqueduct was Old Upstart who was off at decent odds of 2/1, ran along on the outside to attend the early pace setter, moved up swinging out of the turn to contend for the lead, finally started to get past the early pace setter, when Poshky swooped through along the rail, then set out after Poshky only to come up a head short, while holding the place… The reverse exacta was one of ours and should have gotten us out without a loss… but it does s!@#$! to run 2nd again.

At Los Alamitos,  Bolster was our selection with a M/L of 6/1… but went off an underlay 4/5.  I will repeat myself again…. do not play these horses or any horses at underlay pricing.  We have to find OVERLAYs literally ALL OF THE TIME… In my judgement this was a talented horse with some “obvious physical problems” at 6/1 I have a chance to win with the talent, at 4/5 I have a chance to lose with the “O.P.P.”… Bolster showed alertly out of the gate bye was outfooted and took up the chase sitting nicely just off the early pace duel.  When Prat asked, he started to make a run, but could not sustain the run and then seemed to go wrong as PRAT took hold to guide him safely… good handling by PRAT in my opinion… bad result, we should have all been saved by the PRICE!!!!
