Saturday’s (7-25-2020) Power Page and PLUS for Saratoga & Del Mar are ready for download…

Saturday’s Coast to Coast headlines some really good horses…

Firenze Fire takes on Whitmore, Volatile, Mind Control, and Lexitonian in a small field but a talented field.   This should be a real good one, as the form is interesting and forward going for several of these runners in this seasons edition of the Vanderbilt.

Meanwhile at Del Mar, Maximum Security headlines the San Diego – Grade 2 at 1 1/16 on the Main Track.  Of course, Max Security was the winner of the Kentucky Derby only to be DQ’d.  I might add, the only DQ in the history of the KD.  Then, later on, he was taken away from Jason Servis who is being evaluated for irregularities, and consequently, his horses have been taken from his care and distributed to other trainers.  He came up lucky, his new conditioner is the great Bob Baffert.

This is a competitive race if Maximum Security misses a step.  The competition can surprise with some excellent efforts periodically.  Note, that when Max Security was with Servis, his training style was for long works and at slower paces.  Bob Baffert is known for making his horses work harder in the mornings.  So I guess the question is whether or not he will thrive for BB or long for the easier handling of JS.  And then there is always the question, will he like the Del Mar surface.   I am guessing Yes and Yes for this super competitive colt.
