Vekoma, Roadster, Tacitus and Game Winner …

all with tremendous wins in the Bluegrass, The Santa Anita Derby and the Wood Memorial prepare for their trip to Kentucky.  Game Winner ran a very solid 2nd in the Santa Anita Derby, while giving lots of ground around both turns while moving to engage Instagrand, may have been equal to Roadster who went on to win the Santa Anita Derby in very nice fashion.

But we have to take a moment to reflect on Vekoma who was cross-firing, looking around and running through the stretch like a sailor who had just reach the bar after a long tour at sea.  And while doing all the shenanigans he widened his lead.   It would be fair for us to consider this horse has more talent to show as he matures, maybe more than anyone else.

Tacitus also took some bumping in the first turn of the Wood and ran really nicely while holding Tax safe, and it’s worth noting he didn’t give much ground to a fast closing Haikal who stopped putting his best run about 100 yards out, noting he was too far behind the top two to get the job done.  He seems to have not like the 2-turns as much as he like the 1 turn Mile… Let’s keep that in mind for future racing… might really like the Belmont configuration.

It was a great day and we have lots’ to think about…
