Tiz The Law… straighten things out!

Tiz The Law, like me a New York Bred, romped in The Belmont Stakes in a race that showed he was “way superior” to any of the other horses that showed up, pretty much as I suggested.  He broke sharply, attended the very quick pace of “Tap It To Win”, whose fast fractions only hurt himself and the immediate chaser Fore Left!  Tiz The Law stayed out in the 3-4 path, happy to let them expend their energy, while Tiz The Law was simply warming up.

Seemingly about 1 length off the leaders as they came out of the turn, in the blink of an eye, he opened 3 lengths!  And then moved out to 5 lengths….  Dr. Post took up the running late to finish 2nd and Sole Volante who had some class, had no run!

The time was very sporty 1:46 3/5, but these times are faster than we normally see at Belmont, as it’s been the norm to see new attacks on the track record, which for all intents and purposes were all set in 1973, Secretariat’s year, and seldom threaten since in the last 47 years.  At one time, every Track Record on the Main Track was set in 1973 and everyone one of those records stayed intact for well more than a decade ( I think the first one that fell was Groovy’s 6-furlong record).

This happens from time to time in racing when a strip can get super fast or super slow… this is the fastest I have ever seen this track.

But if we consider this factorm it is still obvious to anyone who was watching, this colt can really motor… and to my eye, he starts to ease it up when he’s done whipping the competition… More to come… much more!
