Gulfstream Park … Jerry J’s Power Page – Classic ( Only)

Crushing Gulfstream on Wednesday, just for you…

No doubt about it… the JJPP Classic has been fantastic at Gulfstream Park, no matter how you consider it… Yesterday’s card had 7 TOP RATED winners, noting that Forever Mo (in the 7th race) was the only Top Rated STAR horse , winning at a $9.00 win price.  Putting that piece of information into this this Pick 6 sequence gave our players an opportunity to truely score with gust.

With Leg #1 being won by Fightinirishtabit paying $13.60.  All other Pick 6 races were won by my TOP RATED horse… I correctly rated the WINNER as my TOP PPN – in races 7,8,9,10 and 11.  Simply put, my 2nd rated PPN horse won the first leg and then we swept the balance of the card with my TOP Rated PPN.  And we noted that Forever Mo, was the only TOP rated STAR horse, which might be worth some extra tickets or even a SINGLE on a bigger base ticket…

A simple 20 cent wager (as the Pick 6 base wager) using the TOP 2 rated horses in each race would cost only $12.80 and ultimately did return a whopping $423.56…

Think about it… the beauty of this is the JJPPs have been doing over and over again at Power Page… just for you!

War of Will and Anothertwistafate:

War Of Will, while overcoming a difficult outside post position, ran a rather pedestrian 71.3.  A little later on in San Francisco Anothertwistafate ran at fabulous 75.0.  The big “but” here is — he did it on synthetic and not on organic!  But from a simple visual approach, Anothertwistafate was absolutely spectacular, as anyone could see for themselves.

As for War of Will, he naturally seems to run much faster on Turf, than he does on the Dirt, but apparently he was not facing very stiff competition.  It’s one of those visuals in horse racing we see fairly often, a decent horse beating inferior competition looks pretty good, even though it’s below par.  The people who love this horse, will comment that he ran as fast as he needed to run, and while that is true, it’s not very helpful in profiling a future effort that will be up to par and beyond.

The real knock on War of Will is, he has run 3 races on the dirt, and while winning all of them, none of them are much more than a simply “Non-Winner of 1 other than” plus a little ground loss.  The added speed figure he would receive for ground loss is problematical, as it’s likely he will most often lose much ground.  If he could “save ground” a little more, it will improve his future prospects – in my opinion.  At this moment, he is no contender for the KD and I would prefer to play him on the Turf!

I am positive on Anothertwistafate only – in regard to the Kentucky Derby…
