Jerry’s Jargon

With the new Jerry J’s Power Page – PLUS, I have had to create abbreviations to properly talk to everyone…here is the new “jargon”…

$$$ = money

CL = Contenders List

CLs  the contenders in the Contenders List

DD = Daily Double

FP = Featured Play  — lots of good handicapping stuff to talk about – price might be lacking…

pk = POK =  Pop Out Key  — some interesting handicapping,  the POK should have a good price…

TR = Top Rated

(1-pk x ???)  this means I am singling my Pop Out Key in a Horizontal Play

(1 x ???)  this means I am singling my TR (top rated horse) in a Horizontal Play ( in this case, I made a typo and failed to include TR, the next example is the more correct version)

(1-TR x ???)  this means I am singling my TR (top rated horse) in a Horizontal Play

(1-FP x ???)  this means I am singling my FP (Featured Play) in a Horizontal Play

( 2 x 3) this simply means I am making a DD using the Top 2 rated horses in the CL of Leg #1 with the Top 3 horses in the CL of Leg #2

SPREAD – this simply means it’s a complicated race in some way, maybe very competitive and we are splitting “handicapping hairs” and I just don’t have a handle on the right value proposition…  Plain and simple — it’s a tough race.  Interestingly, the rest of the handicapping world might be in the same predicament, so SREADs are really helpful in finding “random value bonanzas”.  However, I often find myself finding a Pop Out Key, once I have seen the how the track is playing and the way the betting is going.
