Saturday’s (12-2-2017) Power Page and PLUS for Aqueduct and Los Alamitos are ready for download…

The Youts’ are out and about — at The Big A along with the best Milers in the country… as the Big A has the final 3 races as The Demoiselle, The Remsen and then The Cigar mile to bring it home…Sharp Azteca returns to the East Coast after a sensational effort in the Breeders’ Cup.  The question is, is it a good idea to bet a BC horse who ran so very hard just a couple of weeks ago, or should we take a shot with a new shooter?

As for both races from premier 2 year olds, these are basically the ones who passed up the Breeders’ Cup (save one) and are taking a little less aggressive path through their early developmental cycle.  So going in, it’s a bit hard to say, whose the boss… but we may well know after they cross the finish line… and I suspect a healthy mutual will be collected as well.

Sensational performances, by horse, jockey and trainer!  This is one I will be enjoying and look forward to discussing…

I will be Blur”p”ing a Post BC Review… If you want to receive these, just send me an e-mail to jerryj@cox.net,   I will be happy to add your name to the list and send you the BC Blurps… this is a totally FREE service… but only for our friends.

 “Race Day Las Vegas” Plays

Wednesday’s Play

2 Plays at Aqueduct today, the first, Exchanging Secrets, ran a little to get 2nd, but looked a choppy to my eye, off at 3/5, was too low to play if you could have waited long enough to see the sudden price drop.  But did manage the PLACE… I was betting against the winner, entirely.

Then my 2nd play was Beckert’s Galazy in the 8th… off at 8/1 was clearly a price I could live with, but the effort BG made was “really hard to live with…  urged out of the gate to attend the pace, then fell back some on the turn and had no rally finishing way back… poor effort…

Thursday’s Play started with Carolina Shag who was running vigorously on the front and turned for home with a lead, when she suddenly and abruptly started to struggle.  My eye suggests  she had troubles greater than “normal tiring”.  Injuries happen, even to the most well meant horses and plays.

Then at Los Alamitos, at huge odds Chief of Staff went along in attendance to the lead, well placed on the outside, midway thru the turn, started to be out-classed and tired.

Friday’s plays started at Aqueduct, with Forrest Blue, who broke alertly and took up position in the pocket, came into the stretch with dead aim, but was only able to manage a 3rd place finish… His off odds were 2/1.

The 2nd play was in the 4th at Los Alamitos, D D’s Lute, off at 24/1 stalked the early leaders from the outside and looked very good, gave a little ground midway on the turn, but then started to rally coming out of the turn, again, looking dangerously, when she suddenly “bobbled”, then held and then started to rally, when once again she “bobbled” and then settle into a more rhythmic stride to settle for 4th…
