Saturday (4-11-2015) Power Page and KHSS for Aqueduct and Santa Anita are ready for download…

Two great betting cards…  The races came up really competitive in almost every instance, so remember, the PPN on the Power Page is focusing on a SINGLE ASPECT of form, the most recent races…  I do not look at 1 race to assign an number but the flow from race to race and give greatest weight to the most recent races…   I ignore lot’s of important handicapping ideas, I don’t even look at workouts AT ALL…  So you can make your own decisions, noting that the Power Page is giving you a very good opinion on the most important part of the handicapping puzzle – the most recent form…   So when the PPN’s are closely matched, it give you much more latitude to weighing your decisions, especially if they are “value based”,  But even if you tend to be “selection orientated over value, when the races are more closely matched in this aspect of the handicapping puzzle _ namely most recent form — then you can easily make VALUE, Back Class, workouts, racing position to be MORE IMPORTANT…

A quick comment on handicapping with figures.  I hear other handicapper’s who use speed figures discuss “middle moves” or big “internal advantages”.    Especially, when talking about weaker classes of horses, these tend to be big negative!   Ususally, either of these two concepts are really signals the horses have been damaged and will not perform as well  and are likely to be a negative form cycle.  That’s why they have a BIG INTERNAL figure and are in the bottom classes with ugly finishes…   These types usually get bet on, so they aren’t even very much fun…   Whatever your focus, handicapping is about form cycles and trying to measure the health and well being of the race horse.  I assure you, if you avoid “Big Middle Moves” on low class horses, you will save yourself a fortune.
