This has proved to be a challenging week on many fronts, and I believe we came through all the challenges very well. We had competitive racing, at both Saratoga and Del Mar and we survived the challenges of Payloadz failure to deliver product to our customers… Thanks for hanging in there with me.
Today we have two main features, The Alabama and The Pacific Classic — both races feature some problematic / FAST horses. First in the Alabama, Danette who was a major contender as a 2 year old in the Breeders’ Cup filly juvy race has finally broken her Maiden just two back. She has run and run and run – but not one of her three year races compares to her two year old races — This can’t be good! However, with the way she keeps showing up for races, I am inclined to think this is a mental thing with her, so there is always a chance when this filly will surprise everyone with a crazy big effort. So she is always a maybe. Lovely Maria come in off a terrible effort, but prior to that she ran some truly first class races and of course her stablemate is I’m a Chatterbox, who really put it all out there last time – besting Curalina. Both of these fillies hail from the barn of Larry Jones, another first class conditioner… And I like someone else… But remember, I publish information, I do not give out selections…
To that point, I don’t mind discussing handicapping ideas, like a 3 year old that doesn’t run faster than their 2 year old numbers, is to me a bad signal. Good trainer’s shoving a horse up the class ladder after a sharp race – this is a good signal… and so on… But the Power Page is information, that YOU can use to build your handicapping ideas and betting strategies… IT’s for me to stay to the side lines once the JJPP is published…
So good Luck…and good handicapping…
