Race Day Plays:
Aqueduct ; Race #4 — I’m Funny How — off at 8/1 did some early running and held the show in a fair effort…
Los Alamitos ; Race #8 — Feeling Talkative — off at 25/1 , I might have been reaching a little for this one, but you have to from time to time… ran evenly in an effort that suggest we have seen as good as we will from this filly… I was hoping for some buried form, Not To Be…
Track Bias Report:
Aqueduct : Seemed Honest, speed horse typically got beat late, but always held on pretty well. Closer types did very well all day, both inside out and outside… Horses with lots of natural early speed did quite well. Some might give the slight advantage to closers…
Los Alamitos : Played very fairly, as all types of racers got their noses on the line…
Power Page Report for Saturday 12/12
As everyone should know, the PPNs (Projected Power Numbers) on the Power Page are biased toward the more recent races. They are therefore presented as a “Form of Data” that is very predictive… Saturday was a good example of how predictive they can be. In 12 of 18 races, the TOP RATED horse ran first or 2nd 12 of the total 18 races. True many were favorites but NOT ALL… In the 7th at Aqueduct, our Top Rated horse was Day Of Fury, off at odds of 20/1 and he ran 2nd. And at Los Alamitos, in the 8th race, our Top Rated Horse, Sutton’s Smile was off at 30/1 and ran a very decent 3rd in this little stakes race for 2 year old fillies. My point is, that as a data set, you can easily use the Top Rated horses to be part of your decision model … but just because they are a big price, it doesn’t mean someone made a mistake — they may be worth a nice wager as well…
As for handicapping on the Power Page, this comes in the form of STARs and Vs. Of which we had several that all that won and paid nicely including More Zen Tea at $13.20, Kellianne Can at winning at 3/1, Chilly Bon Bon running a nice 3rd at 10/1 and I’m Funny How also running 3rd at 8/1… Only Feeling Talkative ran off the board at huge odds of approximately 25/1…
V’s horses were well represented by our winner , Marriage Fever paying $18.80 for the $2.00 winn wager…
And now let’s remember our Early Speed Mark — the 1 + 2 –> There were 3 “1”s at Aqueduct, 2 ran very nice 2nds and again showed well at Los Alamitos..
That’s if for now….
