We come to the end of our 1st year publishing the Jerry J’s Power Page PLUS – today. On Saturday, we step into our 2nd year. I will be offering a SPECIAL, it’s our anniversary!
On Thursday’s race Day Las Vegas radio show, there once again is a disagreement about Nyquist. True enough, the 3 year old crop did not pan out as well as I anticipated, but both Nyquist and the amazing Arrogate (Arro-great) stood very tall. Arrogate is clearly the best of this generation and maybe the best of – well who knows – but Nyquist did make him run.. in my opinion. Nyquist did the following…1) Win The BC Juvy and the Kentucky Derby… 2) Win the Kentucky Derby while remaining undefeated…3) win the Kentucky Derby with a sub 23.0 first quarter.
I am not providing the answers to who the others were who accomplished these feats, or how many, but if you take the time to go through the last 40 years of Triple Crowns and the last 34 years of the Breeders’ Cup, you will be amazed at who the few are that Nyquist is keeping company with! Enough Said!

Aqueduct – Race #7 Dad’Z Laugh, off at 7/2 Ran along well to attend the pace, off some 3 lengths, commenced a rally, but spent too much time on the sluggish rail… got 3rd…
Santa Anita – Race #6 Filly On Fire off at 6/1 (after the favorite gate scratched) attended the pace inside but just behind the leaders, managed to get in behind slow cover, and fell back to 6th, but then rallied to get 4th. It’s not clear if the filly had “no run” or was “in tight and lost all chance”… finished 4th.
