Gulfstream Park is being done on Thursday in place of the absent Aqueduct. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we will be doing Aqueduct! To order Gulfstream, please click on the NEW YORK buttons…
At Santa Anita we have a really interesting card. I would hope everyone will put together a play on the opening PICK5. It appears both hit-able and value rich!

“Race Day Las Vegas” Plays
Thursday’s
Gulfstream Park… In Race #5 our play was Ferdinanda, off at 9/5 then bet some more while during the race, took up position a few lengths off the pace-setter, then moved up 3 wide on the far turn, suddenly an electrifying move mid-turn to sweep to the lead before straightening away, then when receiving a challenge from the fav, she just re-broke to win in impressive fashion… Win price was $5.20 for $2.00, and we took down the full rack of exotics…
Santa Anita… IN Race #4 our play was Milhaud off at 4/1, broke well and moved up in the first 100 yards to fight for early supremacy, extended his lead mid turn, then turned for home about 3 in front and continued on in full stride to win while driving as much the best… Paying $10.60 and taking the exacta (a super premium).
Friday’s
At Gulfstream, in race #5 we played Helen’s Rose, going off at 7/1, HR broke a step slowly, then rushed up to take the lead about 100 yards out of the gate, led by open lengths thereafter, received a challenge on her outside coming out of the turn, resisted with a valiant effort, but succumbed to a late run on the rail by a 50/1. Held the PLACE!
At Santa Anita, in the 3rd race, we played Sagittari, off at 3/1 (in this small field), broke alertly and taken in hand to track the early leaders along the rail, moved away from the rail down the backstretch, and moved up 3 wide on the far turn to engage the leader and poke a head in front as they entered the straightaway, but was out-gamed down the lane… while remaining fully extended… getting the PLACE and we have the Exacta.
Saturday
At Aqueduct we played Shoe Loves Shoe in the 6th, off at 7/2. Broker alertly to move up to contend for the lead on the backstretch and started to dominate late on the turn, opening a healthy lead in the early stretch and had plenty left to hold sway. Winning, paying $9.60, with our best exacta!
At Santa Anita, we played Soltero in the 2nd off at a juicy 5/1, was alert at the break and took up position behind the dueling front runners, while racing along the fence, moved up on the backstretch to stick his nose in front, then powered to a lead on the far turn, was tackled early in the stretch by stablemate Heartfulofstars, then resisted holding a head advantage until giving in – in the final few jumps. By making the PLACE, we had a fabulous exacta and cold trifecta that paid handsomely in this little field.
At Gulfstream, in the Fountain of Youth we played He Takes Charge, off at 18/1, took up the chase along the rail as one of the back markers, moved up along the rail, but didn’t make much headway and continued evenly while not a factor…
Sunday
At Aqueduct, we played Right On in the 6th off at 6/1, ran very sharply through the opening 4 furlongs, while holding a lead, but started to tire at the top of the stretch, continued on to finish 4th.
At Santa Anita, we played Pulmarack in the 8th, off at 9/1, broke okay but took back, started to move in a decent stride down the backstretch, but didn’t make much headway, finished evenly to make only a small dent, well out of the money…
