Aqueduct and Santa Anita tee it up...
The final Sunday at Aqueduct and Santa Anita present excellent cards and nice weather, both tracks should be FAST.
As we get toward the end of the year, it’s important to say something about handicapping and the use of my Power Page-Classic and Power Page-PLUS. The purpose of both products is to help you find horses with good value – or said another way – to not be betting chalk, especially odds on.
I am always hoping when the favorite is rated at 70.0 and bet to odds of 2/1, a horse rated at 68.8 and at odds of 8/1 seems a much better bet – especially if this is all we know. I simply make a nice win and place wager on the slower 8/1 and an exacta box with the fast horse. It’s apparent to me, that if you have a steady diet of chalky bets, you will never get ahead or really enjoy playing horses.
And of course there is almost never a reason, good or bad, for betting a horse at less then 4/5, no matter the rational one uses.
I am hoping each of you will use your best ideas and judgement, combine it with the JJPPs and come up with reasonable wagers on horses that have some VALUE, that would be VALUE to you when they win.
Of course, I try to help with the STAR horses and the V horses and the 1 horses and the “p and m” horses. And keep this in mind, when you like the favorite and it’s confirmed by other sources, including my JJPPs, it’s a good idea to take a break, clear your mind and keep your cash in your pocket…
Let’s say goodbye to 2018 and hello to 2019 with a determined attempt to find value!
