Saturday’s Summer racing festival is here – Travers’ Day…
A fantastic, albeit difficult, 13- race card is presented for your pleasure, enjoyment and “absolute thrill of victory or an hurting agony of defeat”. That’s our game, we love to love it but we also have to be able to take it when it goes against. The beauty of these types of cards, is the presentation of really fabulous horses, and we can “fall in love” with a horse and lose sight of other with great chances as well.
At the JJPP-PLUS, we urge you to bet with a decent “value proposition”. This means we will not be betting the fastest horse on the planet, Sir Shancelot. His Morning Line is 1/2, and he is obviously coming off a Massive Lifetime Best Effort. He is easily the fastest and he is at his most likely to run a surprisingly bad race. Young horses after running a MLBE are more likely to run a stinker — it’s called bouncing. So at 1/2, why take on the risk. It’s that kinda day.
But Sir Shancelot is not the only horse to have just run a MBLE in one of our big races, and this presents real value possibilities. But simply the chance of running a stinker is not a guarantee of running a stinker… So when betting against an MBLE, you definitely want some additional value.
Get your JJPPs, do your handicapping and confer with my material… then make sure you take a decent to fantastic value proposition for your play. Repeat this forever… it will do the job…
Bias alerts for Friday…
Bothy surfaces are behaving beautifully right now. Del Mar has hit it’s stride as a racing surface… but they need to do better with their gate crews.
