The racing turns up BIG as 3- year old colts take center stage…
The big headliner is the San Felipe at Santa Anita with Life Is Good taking on Medina Spirit & Roman Centurian. These 3 might be meeting again and again – all the way to the Kentucky Derby. While at Aqueduct, is the Gotham and at Tampa Bay Downs is the Tampa Bay Derby.
Personally, the San Felipe is really showcasing the faster tougher horses today. Interestingly, Bob Baffert sends Freedom Flyer to New York, thinking another route is best for this colt. And that certainly makes sense, he is also very FAST, as are all of Baffert’s charges… but note Highly Motivated from Chad Brown’s barn is also terrific, but he is coming back off a 4 month layoff… and CB has a 2nd colt inCrowded Trade who has only raced once… dusting a mediocre bunch – so this colt may have tremendous upside that is “BURIED FORM” at this point.
I think these are very interesting races to watch… and I may have a play that I might mention on Ralph’s Race Day Las Vegas… or on Billy The Greek’s Beantown Radio…
