ON Friday’s card, in spite of the heavy rain on Thursday night, I have handicapped the 5th race for the Turf.   Maybe I am just hopeful that this fabulous Turf race stays on the Turf.  Anyway, it’s just a silly race on the Main track, so I hoped they would make an effort to match up Speaking of Which, Sky Blazer, Swift Warrior and Hudson Steele on the surface they love to run on…

Paynter comes back today in one of the more amazing comebacks I have ever heard of — having laminitis in 3 hooves.  But I understand he’s not the only one running today…  Paynter could have been the best of his generation with a major run in the Belmont and a great win in the Haskell….   Let’s hope all the hard work puts one great horse back on the track for a long time to come…
