Finding capable horses at good prices is at the heart of making a good wager — in specific — and doing well at horse racing in general!    So at Saratoga on Friday, my TOP Rated Queenofzenile paid $45.40 for the win mutual — no STAR or “V” horses in the race.  NOthing too complicated just great value with a tremendous overlay price.  It doesn’t happen in every race but the potential is always there.

Later on at Del Mar I featured TEn Carat Rock as a “V” (for Value with a chance) who then won paying $36.60.  and if that is not enough Singing Kitty at 11/1 in the 3rd race finished fine for the place…  These are the types of plays that build your bankroll …

Stay with the Power Page….

Thursday was a fun day for me…  I was over at Red Rock to see their new Display screens… Here is my review  “Fantastic”.  This is an amazing new technology, in which each Pixel is an LED light.  what that means is — brighter – clearer and better!

Also, I was sitting with some other handicapper’s from the local scene.  And the talk is still about American Pharoah… Should he go in the Travers or somewhere else… All the handicapper’s would like him to take on the Traver — except me.  And if I was a trainer, I might be wrong, because possibly the timing is not perfect in my route to the Breeders’ Cup.  While there can be no doubt that going through the Travers’ the setup for the BC is probably best.  But that being said, I still say that Saratoga is a bit of a “horse for course” type of track — in two ways… Sometimes you run into a Fourstardave type who just becomes a horse of a different class up at the Spa… a fairly good recent example might be Lawyer Ron who ran 10 lenghts better up at the Spa than he ever ran anywhere else… oh yeah and Fourstardave himself.   Beyond these two examples, we see many surprising big runs at the Spa.   And then there are the occasional horse’s like Man O’ War who was beaten by Upset.

So I wouldn’t mind if American Pharoah skipped a trip to the Spa, stayed at home and beat up the locals at Del Mar in the Pacific Classic… I’ just saying…
