BELMONT OPENS!

Belmont starts on Wednesday, that mean we are going to be enjoying races at the biggest and best race track in the country — in the world.  Big sweeping turns that lead to the most honest racing with the lowest “turn effect” on the horses.  Bigger horses can manage the Turns at Belmont better than they can at smaller tracks.  And the Turf courses are 2nd to none, even the INNER TURF course which is a bit unkind to the outside post (one of the few prevailing biases) is a stage for really great racing….  Stay with me through the meet, we are able to catch some really nice prices and see thrilling races…

BET AGAINST UNDERLAY with GOOD OVERLAYS!

Wicked Strong didn’t show up with a very lively run in the Excelsior, but to the pleasure of Power Page players, our “V” horse at 8.5/1 in a tidy 6 horse field DID!  He ran a great place to Effinex.  I can’t say anyone should have or could have made this play, but I simply do not see why not.  Wicked Strong was only rated at 77.5 after a single race at Gulfstream, so this was his 2nd race and there is no absolutes in horse racing.  Storming Monarch and Effinex (also trained by Jimmy Jerkens) were bot ratedd within a 1.0 of Wicked strong.  Both had really good odds and the natrual hook-up was our “V” horse, Red Rifle as the add-in…  That’s how you do it, bet against underlay with good overlay!

Other successful “V” horses were Frogman Mel — winner at $11.20 (9th at AQU) and With The Breeze 11/1 – ran 4th at SANTA ANITA>..
