When using the “Q” horse to help you bet against a favorite is absolutely correct in my opinion.  Naturally, when we BET AGAINST  anything, we expect to win — but it doesn’t always happen that way.  And we take a lump or two.  But let’s face it, this puts us on higher priced horses and when we win, we should win back against the “Q” that beat us.   It would be my estimate that the Q’s will win only about 1 in 4 times with the actual favorites winning more like 1 in 3 times.  This gives us another accumulated advantage to our bankroll.

One other thing about “Q” favorites, the ones that do win will often be heavily bet, and then simply makes them more enticing to bet against, but MONEY does show something and we have to take a knock here and there, but for an additional advantage being put in my bankroll, it’s well worth it…

Okay, so we are back for Thursday on both coasts, with our Aqueduct and Santa  Anita Power Page’s and KHSS.   Both cards look excellent.  There are several “Q” horses, a couple of “V” horses and of course our fabulous STAR horses to build some plays around.  First let me discuss the “Q” horse.  It’s really no big deal, YOU SHOULD BE TRYING TO BUILD A CASE AGAINST EVERY FAVORITE!  If you can build a case, then you have something to bet on, if you can’t — then it might be a good idea to PASS THE RACE.   The “Q” is simply a horse with an obvious flaw — maybe the INSIDE POST in a sprint without the requisite speed to get superior position.   Or maybe an horse with medium tactical speed form the far outsite, likely to get hung very wide  In either case, you might be willing to bet on such a horse if the odds are reasonable, but as a heavy favorite – not so much — in my opinion.

As for the “v” horses, I really don’t think they are good win bets, they are simply very long prices that deserve a chance to get into the money — UNLESS THEY ARE LISTED IN THE TOP 3 rated horses.  If they happen to be in the top 3 – I am happy to suggest a win and place wager – so long as the odds stay nice and juicy!

STAR horses are always worth a wager of some kind — IN MY OPINION!   The ROI on STAR horses has been fantastic…
