Belmont Stakes Seminar…. at Texas Station… on Friday at 6pm.. in the Race Book

Does Cali Chrome have the form to get the final – grueling – monumental final 1/4 of a mile that separates Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Affirmed and Alydar from the likes of Spectacular Bid, Pleasant Colony, Alysheba, Silver Charm, Real Quiet, War Emblem, Funny Cide, Smarty Jones and the other near greats that I forgot to mention.  In fact there are 12 who succeeded in winning the Triple Crown and since Affirmed and Alydar there are 12 who failed to accomplish this…   So it will be worth discussing CC and his chances….  See you on Friday night at Texas Station…

Consider this —  1 1/2  miles under an impost of 126 pounds.   It just is not an easy task, that’s why terrific even great horses have failed to succeed as the  ODDS ON choice.  I will be looking forward to discussing California Chrome and his competition for stepping up to the mantle that includes Affirmed, Seattle Slew, Secretariat (and Alydar) – the 4 Triple Crown winners in my lifetime.  It was 25 years from Citation to Secretariat and then 36 years from Affirmed until NOW.  So the big question and the wager – hopefully we will get to both…
