Here we go with just a couple of race cards that can only be described as fabulous.  Santa Anita is of course featurning the Big Cap and the San Felipe which is a good starting point for the West coasts entrance to the Triple Crown trail…     AS you know, I don’t go throwing too many STAR horses around these days. but I do want to mention that I have 3 STAR horses in the Big Cap – one of which  is 20/1…

The first rule of winning at horse racing is obvious, that’s to make money when you select a winner.  Not to figure out a way to lose money with a “clever wager”.  Interestingly, many years ago a simple study found that the simple win wager was the best wager for the small bettor.  The reason the simple win bet is a bit of a problem for the large bettor, has to do with the smallish size of the pools – so a big bettor could conceivably drive down their own price when attacking the win pool….

IF you like a horse and it wins, you should collect some $$$ right there and then…
