What an effort by Samaraat!  You can watch a 1000 races going around 2-turns on the Aqueduct INNER DIRT track and count the times a horse was 3 wide — while in attendance to the pace — on both turns and still managed to win.  I mean it’s one of the most difficult trips to overcome in all of horse racing, but Samaraat did it… What an effort…  Uncle Sigh and In Trouble were tough as well…

HOw good is the Power Page?   Incredible is my anwer…  Here is why.  Today we had a WET track at Santa Anita and the Power Page had 6 distinctly marked horse with the “p” for potential on the off track.  Nothing certain, just that these had the breeding — in my opinion — to do well in these circumstances…  The result was as follow, 3 of the ‘P” horses WON, including the winner of the 8th race — that would be Shandy at $56.60 for a $2.00 wager and there was ONLY 1 horse with an “m” – in this case I KNOW THIS HORSE has run well in the WET — and that horse ran a decent PLACE.     Isn’t that better than having a “mud mark on ever single horse and trying to decide if 10 points is significant or 5 points or 20 points and trying to tease an answer out of such a situation — I ASK???   For me the answer is obvious, the other is just noise to me, the way we do it on the Power Page helps to make useful decisions, and even great ones!
