Is Animal Kingdom ready to move forward to win off in the Preakness and run a number that fits this class of horses.  Or is he just another who picked up the pieces in a mediocre number at the Kentucky Derby who now figures to get waxes by a new face to the crowd.   The big question about Animal Kingdom is whether on not G. Motion has gotten a winning effort in the horses 5th race lifetime and this lack of foundation, combined with a running style that might not be ideal for a grinder.   He really is a difficult read, because there are both positives and negative…  I will  be sorting this out and taking a stand, isnt’ that what we do!

As I mentioned on Ralph Siraco’s Race Day Las Vegas radio show, Churchill Downs needs  to fix the problem with the #1 post position in the Kentucky Derby.   These wonderful horses, who lay their bodies down, all deserve a proper-level (within proper tolerances) surface to step on to when leaving the starting-gate.   To my eye and everyone else who I have spoken with, the horse in the #1 post position is breaking on to a steeper incline which points them down toward the rail.  It’s a dangerous proposition and clearly contributory to Archarchach hurting himself.   Both before the Derby and afterward, this is one of the most significant comments I have heard from fans around the country…  All I can say to Churchill Downs is fix it…
