Belmont and Santa Anita for Thursday,,,

Belmont received heavy rains on Wednesday during the early part of the day, and the forecast was for more rain by Post Time on Thursday, therefore I handicapped all races for the Main Track.  This is always just a guess, and I hope it works out well for our Belmont card, but do keep this in mind.

Santa Anita has a nice 7 race card that features some competitive racing. Certainly, worth playing!

Papa Mandella produces Omaha Beach!

Surely, I will never see another training job that will match the accomplishment of Papa Mandella to win with Omaha Beach.  He could have won, with a poor effort from the other horses.  But that’s not what occurred, it appeared that Shancelot produced a first rate effort.  Taking the early lead without incident in 21 4/5 and going 44 1/5 without pressure, Shancelot seemed very comfortable and turned for home, extending his stride.  He continued to the finish line in full stride and totally extended, but Omaha Beach, as he has done so many times already, kept fighting, extending and finding the finish line.

I mean to say, that was totally amazing!  Oh and one more thing, I think it’s pretty obvious, Omaha Beach stands tall over all the other 3 year olds in this crop…  So he is a giant, just as his name would demand…
