Racing resumes at Los Alamitos (we hope) on Saturday and we are on a weather watch for racing at Aqueduct…  Hopefully, both cards go off without a hitch… There were plenty of interesting handicapping “problems” to solve, so let’s have at it… 

“Race Day Las Vegas” Plays

Two plays at Aqueduct, both ran okay, neither ran well enough to win.  The first play was Daring Prospect in the 3rd, amazingly this horse went off as the fav at a intense UNDERLAY of Even Money… and I pray nobody who listened to me bet this horse at that price… as I said on the show, this is a great play as the 2nd choice… I would add here (and would have on the show if alotta the proper time) that it’s not worth playing as the chalk…  In fact, there are no good plays from me on anything that is odds on!

Moi ran in the 3rd, and was pretty good, but the winner was fabulous…

 Unoffically, Los Alamitos has cancelled on Friday, due to the problems created by these horrific fires in So. California… 

Apparently, the fires have migrated south and have at this point killed horses at San Luis Rey.  I cannot express how deeply this affects me.  At the core of my love for horse racing is my deep appreciation for the horses themselves.  These are beautiful, elegant and majestic creations, upon whom we focus our attention on a day-in and day-out basis…  I am profoundly saddened for these losses…
