We say goodbye to the man – a.k.a. “41” – whose voice called to “1,000 points of light” or maybe just to our better selves. The graceful and purposeful life he shared with us, through his tireless service, has been noted here. Go with peace…G-d Bless…
Aqueduct…. getting some “Precip”…
About the 7th race, light rain started to fall on Friday afternoon, and continued on through the early evening. With additional Rainfall expected, I have handicapped all races for the Main Track. Saturday’s card feature two starlwart stops on the developmental cycle for 2-year olds on the way to the 3-year old classics. But surprisingly, the Remsen has not been a place that future Kentucky Derby winners succeed at. In fact, the Remsen has been just the opposite. In fact, it’s actually a better NEGATIVE predictor of a Kentucky Derby outcome – At least to my memory.
Moynahan was the 2-year old champ and came running home a brilliant winner of the Remsen and suddenly it looked as if this horse might be in control of the Triple Crown races. He ran 1 decent race subsequently and then went totally south!
The Dameoiselle on the other hand has not had such a bad effect on the fillies. Probably because they do not have to be sensational so early to please their ownership…
Yet, we all want to note these races and watch hopefully…
Del Mar has a terrific card, and the Turf course might have a little extra “give” in it.
Stay with the Power Page…
