Whow!!! The Frizette and The Champagne were just better than I had hoped. Firstly, in The Frizette we saw Sweet Reason break very poorly and then move up gradually into slow fractions, then the race picked up it’s pace and Sweet Reason was left to close against-the-grain as Artemis Agroteria just sprinted home in fine style… What did Sweet Reason do, she gave it her all as she ran a spectacular 2nd. No doubt who was best, but it’s alright because AA was our main exotic turn… Both of these fillies should continue to get better…
Then the Champagne, who would have thought that Havana would hold off Honor Code if Honor Code really ran well. Let’s face it, as fast a rating as Havana got, he was still stretching out to 1 Mile after only having one race at 5.5 furlongs. That sounds like a prescription to tire , but Havana had no quit as Honor Code and Ride On Curlin made spectacular runs in the middle of the race track The Trackman caught Right ON Curlin at about 7 paths wide and Honor Code a full 8 paths wide… Here I will offer an opinion on Honor Code… He looks exactly like a KD horse should look and has the early numbers to say, he is a Derby type horse… I think I no race him again until December or January. Let him mature a little — for now — and come back in the spring for serious… Maybe the same for Right On Curlin who I think might be just as tood as Honor Code… for the moment — I lvoe these two colts,,,
