The beat goes on as we have had another stellar day – so far. Highlighted by our winning Featured Play at Belmont, Ostrolenka paying $11.60, my Pop Out Key Fifty Five paying $7.10 (I thought he should be 3/5) but best of all — Mighty Be off at 41/1 running place. Mighty Be stuck his nose in front but just tired in the lane, but held well to get 2nd money which was $25.60 for his efforts.
Santa Anita – on Pick Day- has been good to us through the opening 5 races as our Top Rated Contender won 3 times and placed once in the opening races. Keep your eyes open, so far, the INSIDE on the Dirt has been a reoccurring advantage/bias…

Race Day Plays
Wednesday’s play… neither was fabulous…My first play in the 3rd was Ice Palace, which opened up at 5/1 and held that number through most of the wagering, eventually the price drifted up a little to 7/1. I often consider this type of betting to be a “good sign”, but it was not today. Ice Palace was relaxed early well off the pace, started to move nicely but hit a wall midway on the turn.
In the 7th race, Tiz A Kitten took off with sharp early speed at 13/1, tried to make every pole a winning one, but tired late after racing very sharply… we might be a week early here… My main 4 horses ran 11,2,3,4 with Tiz holding 4th position…
Thursday’s
Both Cha Cha Heels and Royal F J – my two plays for Thursday — tried to make runs from the back of the pack, and neither succeeded… Cha Cha was running by design, but Royal F J seemed to have some trouble at the break…
Friday’s
Belmont Race #7…Bolitas Boys off at 6/1, ran hard the whole way to win a desperate photo, one for our team… the win mutual was $14.40, so that price was okay…
Santa Anita Race #8.. Scandal off at 9/5 ran a solid race, as “much the 2nd best”, she’s been that before, but as a key she accomplished her function of anchoring the exacta, trifecta and superfecta if you played her in both the 1st and 2nd position…
Saturday’s
At Belmont, Race #8… Ostrolenka off at 9/2 ran smartly in the attending position, needed urging to go past horses in deep stretch, but eventually did and held sway in a nice effort, paying $11.60 to win.
At Santa Anita, Race #7… Guy Code off at 7/2 ran a surprising race, allowing another horse to take the early lead and elected to give up getting over to the inside and stay out in the 3 path… (I think that was a poor strategy on Saturday’s track), was rated back into 3rd position, then came again at the top of the stretch but could not close with the winner, but remained super-game to hold the place… allowing us to walkaway with a small win… I think this horse did very well today!
