Anatomy of an ALMOST SCORE!
Today’s play in the finale at Los Alamitos was Hard To Come Home, with a Morning Line of 20/1 that actually went off at 30/1. In my handicapping, I thought we had to beat the #1 horse – Shake N Fries _ which we did without any problem. But after challenging for the lead a quarter out, we tired to 4th! For a moment, it looked like we were poised for a winning run and for a very long time it seemed likely we would get the PLACE. And as my friend Bill would often say, if he didn’t try the winner so soon, he would have been 2nd. Of course this is conjecture…
Here is what is important and needs to be said. This was a 30/1 horse that had a “V” indicating there was some real handicapping thinking on my part that the horse could surprise to the upside at a big price. And V horses were initially thought to be good addin horses for your exotic wagers, especially for 3rd and 4th position. But in this changing game we love, they win way more than their fair share, earlier this week, a V horse won paying $49.00 for a $2.00 wager. So in some sense this was a very successful piece of handicapping.
The Power Page is two basic ideas… It’s information in the form of the PPNs and the Wet Track Information… and Handicapping Ideas in form of STAR horses, V horses and 1 Horses… And it’s my hope and idea, that the Jerry J Power Page and JJPP-PLUS would do a better job of helping players to place their betting money — AWAY FROM THE CHALK.
I believe, we do a superior job of giving you great chance to find great VALUE plays!
