Congrats to Magnum Moon in his beautiful win in the Ark Derby and My Boy Jack big run in the Lexington – both horses ran really good races… for those of you who have been following my column in Gaming Today, the last time we did our analysis on MYJ we gave him a rave review for horses of this caliber.  I distinguished between my assessment for the KD and for other types of racing.  His rating was PUBLISHED at 76.5 *…  For today’s field this was dramatic… However, I still wouldn’t bet him at 3/2 for the 11 post at Keeneland…  But as predicted, his form was excellent!

I would have to say, for MBJ, it’s a good time for a touch of R & R.  There is simply no purpose in running him in the KD, but they probably will.

As for Magnum Moon, he took a nice strolling lead and then ran away from a field that simply doesn’t match up to him.  I will have his numbers in a day or two, and I would expect them to be another big move forward.  I will fully cover him in my next article, which will publish 10 days from now.  I made the comment today, that while I thought him to be a very good horse, I also thought he is the most over-rated horse going into the KD.  ( I was talking underlay price/performance)… I am sure all the people who loved this horse before, will continue to love him more tonight.  Why not, I even like him more!  So we will be looking at his actual accomplishment on the track and forecasting his next move… But if you have been reading along, you get than 4 races in a short span of time is a very tough proposition, especially when you still have to get better for Freaky Fast (Justify), Sweet Music (Mendelssohn), Audible, The Bold (Bolt d’Oro) and the other very fast horses that are getting their game faces on.
