We experienced a giant day of racing on Saturday. A very good close into slow fractions by O’Prado Again (who took tons of money on the front-board) in the Remsen, a phenomenally explosive run in the lane by Jeranimo in the Citation at Hollywood and a dominating performance by To Honor and Serve in the Cigar mile! But, nothing was as impressive as Disposablepleasure in the Damoiselle. After breaking poorly, she found the rail and the back of the pack going into the first turn, made a brilliant run on the far turn to move on the leaders, when she hit “heavy traffic”, she moved out definitely causing contact and carried another filly wide, steadied in behind horses while waiting for racing room, then split horses and re-rallied to the lead in midstretch to be collared at the wire — but fought to win the bob at the wire… Great effort by the filly, even if she was the fav…who cares!
Some more really good looking races coast to coast, some top class events and some on bottom class events, but they are all good handicapping challenges…
