With a beautiful day at Belmont that saw 3 of the 6 turf races contested on the Main track, we actually had 6 very good races to build our day around. I would say we had a very solid day once again… with our Featured Play running a solid 2nd, that was Chiclet’s Dream in the 8th. I took a shot at beating the Chad Brown fav, with another Chad Brown horse – being Chicklet – who raced beautifully, but was just much the 2nd best today. The winner was coming off something of a layoff but raced very sharply in winning. It was about a second back to 3rd and 4th finishers.
Also, I put up another play in the 7th for Ralph and the Race Day listeners, who also ran 2nd in a very good effort. And once again it was more than a second back to the 3rd horse. The play was Gosilently in the 7th. Unfortunately, Gosilently might have been a little overused in the opening quarter and left just a little vulnerable late. The ultimate winner in this very hard fought battle was County Court who was our 2nd rated horse by just a smidge… And with Gosilently bet way down to under 2/1, was probably the right play in REAL TIME…
