Sunday’s V horse wins at $63.00 in finale…
While my Featured play and Pick on Race Day, Bako Sweets, was getting into all sorts of trouble – buried down on the rail – my V horse Gypsy Blu held sway to upset the field with a very determined and classy effort. I have a pretty strong feeling Bako Sweets would have been best if a proper trip could have been worked out. But that just doesn’t happen all the time in racing, so we get to ask the question… is it worth backing the 2nd or 3rd best horse in the field at monster prices… I will gladly tell you the answer — YOU BET! 1st you can build your play off the horse you like best and believe in the most… but their is nothing that says you can’t make a 2nd (and I recommend FULL UNIT) wager on another horse when the odds dictate. And when betting a 30/1 such as Gypsy Blu, I would make that play to WIN & PLACE.
Monday’s Del Mar card nearly sweeps the PLACE PICK ALL…
On the Jerry J’s Power Page PLUS, my Top rated horse ran 2nd in all 8 races, with 1 exception in the 6th race. This both shows the power of our ratings and Contenders List, while also illustrating this is one tough game! Obviously, when you have 7 of 8 horses running 2nd, they are all putting in good efforts and trying hard, so it’s just a bit of a “statistical anomaly” they all ran 2nd. Maybe there was some good luck and bad luck that returned this result… but there can be no doubt that 7 of our 8 TOP CONTENDERS produce quality runs…
