I have already sent out two Blur”p”s on the upcoming Breeders’ Cup, if you want to receive these, just send me an e-mail to jerryj@cox.net,   I will be happy to add your name to the list… this is a totally FREE service…  Blur”p” #1 was on Arrogate and Blur”p” #2 talks about Gun Runner… and when I say talks, we are getting into their form – I am not “puffing them up”… I can leave that to the TV people.

Race Day Plays

Wednesday’s

Arbitrator off at 2/1, broke very sharply but then was pulled back off the early running, appeared pinned down on the rail for most of the running, then finally got off the rail to finish well, but no threat to the winner… while much the 2nd best.

My 2nd play of the day was Bird’s Eye View in the 7th.  Away in good order, BEV was sharply seated into the first turn, but then settle into a good stride down the backstretch, saving ground throughout, moved up into contention coming off the far turn, but then flattened out after hitting the furlong pole.  My take is he was not competing at the correct distance… Fair effort.

Thursday’s

“This Bird Can Sing”  in the Exit Race was a winner after a hard fought stretch duel.  I will give some of the applause to the trainer – Cox and even more applause to the jockey, Luis Saez for another fabulous finish…  and a little applause to me for picking him.  Winning the last race is always an extra bonus, it sends us home with a little more “pep in our step” and “cash in our pocket”!  Winner paid $8.20 and we took down the exacta and trifecta.

At Santa Anita, “Silver Fury” in race #5 ran along nicely for 3rd money, never threatening…  Just a little less sharp than I had hoped for…

Then in my other Santa Anita play, Blended Citizen, we were sideswiped by Extraordinary Jerry.  What’s wrong with me, not playing my own name… Anyway, they were both from Doug O’Neill’s barn, I chose one, but it was the other… Blended Citizen handled well, was well rated and closed very nicely for 3rd, probably wants more ground, just a guess/observation….
