Tracking my handicapping:
It is really important to know how you are doing. One way is to track ROI and another is to track frequency of hits… Sometimes – handicapper’s kid themselves into thinking they are doing better than they are actually doing, when their edge has declined into a negative. It happens to everyone, even top flight professionals… When this happens, you have to have TRUE stats on your selections to provide a spring board to more good betting when you are going well and to do more research (and less betting) when you are struggling….
As many of you know, this has been a really difficult year for my ON – AIR selections… right now I am running at .89, which is below par for a professional. But my hit rate for 1st and 2nd is right on target. Since – much of my personal wagering – tends to be a win place style with exacta boxes to neutralize my frequency line, I am doing okay on the frequency part, but truthfully, my win rate has been a bit too low. During the summer, I worked pretty darn hard to change some ideas around, and get ALL things working in the right direction… And I know that it’s been paying off… both with my personal wagering and with the Power Page… as an example, since 11/11 through 11/19 my Race Day selections have had 2 winners and 6 placing 12 total selections…
Anyway — I will track the plays – right here on the front page — everyday … There will be year to date totals and a quarterly total for your review…
