The Preakness offers a difficult handicapping situation, but an easy handicapping prop.  To the way I handicap, California Chrome should be wagered down to about 3/5 or even as low as 1/2.  So you could make an argument that if you are able to get 6/5 you are earning value.  I suppose that’s true, but unfortunately, if you  lose you will have to endure another 18 good ODDS-ON favorites in the Preakness to break even, so  you might have to live another 50 years.   The joy of handicapping and the pleasure we all get in watching a horse accomplish lofty goals is really at the core of this Preakness for me.   I just cannot find it in my game plan to bet CC at Even Money or less, even though we might be able to squeeze a touch of juice out of this betting lemon.

So this pretty much puts you into playing exotics – now here we have some really interesting ideas.  So please pick up your Power Page, in this edition, I have suggested an odds line – which added up to approximately 115 points (123 is optimal) so you have a good betting guideline… Good luck on you handicapping ….  This may be a Preakness to remember, so let’s all enjoy …
