Friday’s (11-27-2015) Power Page and KHSS for Aqueduct and Del Marare ready for download…

Race Day plays from Wednesday:

Race#3 at Aqueduct — Sweet Advance — off at odds of 10/1 ran to a Place finish paying $10.40 to place.  To my eye, she would have won if allowed to run earlier, the jockey was a bit too cautious in my opinion…

Race #8 at Aqueduct — Smokey Brown got involved too late in off at very decent odds…finishing either 4th or 5th…

Race Day Plays from Thursday:

Race #7 at Aqueduct — Selenite —  ran very flat through the lane after what appeared a very good trip at 5/1.

Race #2 at Del Mar  — Twirling Tiger – ran a game Place to our next best rated horse, Sugar Buzz… reverse exacta at 15.50/1

Race Day Plays from Friday:

Race #9 at Aqueduct  —  Thirst For Glory ran evenly in a disappointing effort.  Disappointing, because my “press” horse won paying 12/1. So I was naturally a bit “pissed” as I am sure everyone else was who played.

Race #3 at Del Mar — Secret Chords placed in a Speed and tiring effort.  The price was a bit too low to play at EVEN money, the exacta with Flowinwiththewind was a decent one.

Race #4 at Del Mar —  Holograeme finished about 6th in a dull efforts..the exotic turns Tiz A Kiss and Evo Campo ran 1st and 2nd…

Great Races at Aqueduct and Del Mar:

With the Remsen, The Damesoiselle, The Comely and the Cigar Mile we are looking a great handicapping races.  Who knows, maybe we will see a Kentucky Derby contender step to the front of the class.  Nowaday’s, smart trainers who have a Derby colt are not necessarily getting them wound up for the BC Juvy – but rather considering a more conservative journey through the Remesn,  These are  terrific puzzles to solve and hopefully some terrific payoffs.  This is the kind of card, that can produce great winnings.  And guess what, when we turn our attention to Del Mar, with the Jimmy Durante, The Native Diver and The Hollywood Derby that will feature Dortmund, fresh from his effortless Tour De Force, we should expect a fabulous effort (un fortunately at short odds) —  but once again there are many competitive contests with hard to predict outcomes that should yield some nice payoffs…  So get your Power Pages, your past performance material and give it a great whirl on Saturday

Race Day plays from Friday:

Race #6 at Aqueduct —  Distorted Dream – out of money  (good early energy and tired when it counted)

Race #7 at Del Mar — No Comparison – “oom”  (this one ran like a stinker — maybe got hurt or just a bad selection at 3/1)

Race Day Plays from Saturday:

Race #5 at Aqueduct —  Sanctify —  layoff horse, attend pace and tired to 5th…

Race #7 at Del Mar — Josephine’s Moment — mid pack, even effort to 4th…

Tracking my handicapping:

It is really important to know how you are doing.  One way is to track ROI and another is to track frequency of hits…  Sometimes – handicapper’s kid themselves into thinking they are doing better than they are actually doing, when their edge has declined into a negative.  It happens to everyone, even top flight professionals…  When this happens, you have to have TRUE stats on your selections to provide a spring board to more good betting when you are going well and to do more research (and less betting) when you are struggling….

As many of you know, this has been a really difficult year for my ON – AIR selections… right now I am running at .89, which is below par for a professional.  But my hit rate for 1st and 2nd is right on target.  Since – much of my personal wagering – tends to be a win place style with exacta boxes to neutralize my frequency line, I am doing okay on the frequency part, but truthfully, my win rate has been a bit too low.  During the summer, I worked pretty darn hard to change some ideas around, and get ALL things working in the right direction…   And I know that it’s been paying off… both with my personal wagering and with the Power Page… as an example, since 11/11 through 11/19 my Race Day selections have had 2 winners and 6 placing 12 total selections…

Anyway — I will track the plays – right here on the front page — everyday …  There will be year to date totals and a quarterly total for your review…
