Wednesday’s (1-14-2015) Power Page and KHSS for Aqueduct are ready for download…

The forecast for New York is in the low to mid 30’s. According to the weather service I use, they are pegging the mid-day high at 34 degrees.  So I would expect there to be racing.  Now consider this, it will be very cold overnight, so the track should be very cold.  To me this is an ideal situation, so long as the track does NOT Thaw, the racing surface should be excellent.   There was some pretty good rain on Monday, so it’s possible the track might be listed as some version of WET, so just keep that in mind….

Okay, that’s the track, now for the card, it looks pretty good to me…

Sunday’s (1-11-2015) Power Page and KHSS for Aqueduct and Santa Anita are ready for download…

Weel — is 5 times a charm…  I really expect Aqueduct to be running today and you should feel confident of the track.  Ralph brought up a question on the Track’s safety that I didn’t realize was even under discussion.  The Inner Dirt Track has been in operation since 1977 according to my memory.  In that time, by consensus every every handicapper I have respect for, it is the safest track in the land — with 1 exception.  I handles racing right down to ZERO degrees, and I know, I have been out there at 10 degree — they ran the races and no horse suffered injury.   The one exception — to my eye – is after a wet period, followed by a cold period, then followed by a THAW.  Then the track can be a fit funky and deserve to be closed for safety of all concerned.

I love the inner Dirt Track and I hope that the power that be, will look at it’s record for the past 37 years before they go off and do something…
