Weel — is 5 times a charm… I really expect Aqueduct to be running today and you should feel confident of the track. Ralph brought up a question on the Track’s safety that I didn’t realize was even under discussion. The Inner Dirt Track has been in operation since 1977 according to my memory. In that time, by consensus every every handicapper I have respect for, it is the safest track in the land — with 1 exception. I handles racing right down to ZERO degrees, and I know, I have been out there at 10 degree — they ran the races and no horse suffered injury. The one exception — to my eye – is after a wet period, followed by a cold period, then followed by a THAW. Then the track can be a fit funky and deserve to be closed for safety of all concerned.
I love the inner Dirt Track and I hope that the power that be, will look at it’s record for the past 37 years before they go off and do something…
