Saturday’s (11-15-2014) Power Page and KHSS for Aqueduct and Del Mar are ready for download…

Again, I thought the Power Page’s were excellent in helping to find good frequency horses to include in your exacta and wonderful value horses to build exotic plays around…  AT Aqueduct the following horses were within the top three and less than 1 point off the top rated horse  Aqueduct R#2 – Party Now & Daylight Ride,, Race # 9 Rockport Road … While top rated Dianstillwon, Distant Thoughts, Joe Mooch and Hampden Fivone all did there job of filling in the exaxta

At Del Mar Top Rated horse’s Salsita ($4.20), Aguacita ($10.00) and Practising ($6.00) all filled in the exacta plays… but value horses such as Nextdoorneighbor ($20.20), Zimvor ($20.60) & Dr. Vinceenstein ($16.00) were all in the TOP 3 and rated less than 1.0 points off the top rated horse…and   Anxious Times ($8.00 to place) (A STAR HORSE)

Here is a great betting maxim —  “VALUE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT DATA POINT IN THE SELECTION PROCESS!”

We discussed an interesting question about the 3 year old season and how we might rate them.  I have always felt that the racing in the early part of the season really takes it’s toll on the young horses — so I am inclined to rate the prep racing and the triple crown racing a bit higher than the remainder of the season — at least so far as 3 year olds are concerned.   Sometimes you see a nice 3 year old – like Will Take Charge — who got very good at the back end of the season, but he also did plenty of good racing early in the season.  While he was much better at the back half of the season, I rate this type of form even higher than being just good in one side of the season or the other…

The question is then put up against California Chrome and his arch rival for 3 year old champion — Shared Belief.  Well now, CC has finally run well in both parts of the season, so without regard to where Shared Belief finished, I would have to rate CC as the obvious 3 year old Champion…
