Friday’s (1-11-2013) Power Page and KHSS for Aqueduct and Santa Anita are ready for download…

As I continue to discuss the “Early Speed” notation, there are several things that need to be considered.   Just because a horse can get a lead, that doesn’t mean you will get paid!   Too many handicapper’s spend there energy trying to figure whose going to to front – so what!!!   But early speed is an advantage in the right situation, or in the hands of certain trainers or even jockeys.    They know how to get a horse to relax and carry on – hopefully to the wire…

Both of today’s plays on Race Day Las Vegas won, both were notated with the “1” and both paid handsomely ($15.40 ITs’ Truly Ahvee  & $8.00 Quick Wampum)…

Thursday’s (1-10-2013) Power Page and KHSS for Aqueduct and Santa Anita are ready for download…

Discussing the “Early Speed” notations on the Power Page has come up in light of Wednesday’s post.   And while I think that most handicapper’s pay entirely too much attention to “whose going to the lead”, I do think it’s important.  Just noting what happenned on Wednesday, Head HEart Hoof was in a duel with the heavy favorite, Royal Currier, and HHH got the rail and simply outraced Royal Currier in a very impressive manner.  It’s clear, while this is just resulting, that HHH was in great shape and the speed duel just didn’t matter to him, but it did take a little out of RC…  That’s my opinion.  But it is factual that the Power Page did offer information that suggested the two of them had the dominant early speed in the race and a speed duel was a possibility…

Two good betting cards tomorrow…
