Thursday’s (1-10-2013) Power Page and KHSS for Aqueduct and Santa Anita are ready for download…

Discussing the “Early Speed” notations on the Power Page has come up in light of Wednesday’s post.   And while I think that most handicapper’s pay entirely too much attention to “whose going to the lead”, I do think it’s important.  Just noting what happenned on Wednesday, Head HEart Hoof was in a duel with the heavy favorite, Royal Currier, and HHH got the rail and simply outraced Royal Currier in a very impressive manner.  It’s clear, while this is just resulting, that HHH was in great shape and the speed duel just didn’t matter to him, but it did take a little out of RC…  That’s my opinion.  But it is factual that the Power Page did offer information that suggested the two of them had the dominant early speed in the race and a speed duel was a possibility…
