Newspaperofrecord returns to form with a stellar performance…
Hitting the front with an easy stride, right out of the gate, was all it took to set this filly apart going a 1-turn mile at Belmont. She turned for home with UNI getting closer and closer, then just scooted away with effortless easy… at least that’s the way it looked… and as I always caution, when superior horses do something easy, it only looks easy, the horses are still laying down effort.
But it was stellar and with little tension. UNI appearred to be a little short in her first race of the season, at this unsuitable distance of 1-mile. So she’s not to be judged good or bad at this time, for the season. I thought Beau Recall did run a very good race in coming in 2nd, a head in front of UNI.
