The Kentucky Derby trail highlights today’s cards…
While we have the Gotham at Aqueduct is not likely to present a KD runner – but maybe. Then at Santa Anita is a near certainty that we will be reviewing the San Felipe! Two colts of immense talent, both from the Bob Baffert barn look to take each other on. Baffert Horse A ) Authentic, Baffert Horse B) Thousand Words – these two are the most mature when looking at Speed Figures… and if any of the others can show a competitive ability with these two, we will know we are looking at more – from that group there are several potentially interesting horses – including Honor A.P. but noting the conservative nature of trainer Sherriffs this colt might be doing his best running down the line… Thousand Words had the least taxing trip from his last effort and seems most likely to run a forward race today – and received my STAR. But on visuals ( and visuals can fool anyone ) Authentic really impressed me.
So let’s watch this edition of the San Felipe with an eye to the future and keep our rubber-band on our bankroll.
