Del Mar play Honest on Turf and Dirt in opener…

In today’s opening card we saw a fairly deep closer take up the running through the lane to prevail and then we saw horses win, going wire to wire.  The inside didn’t seem bad, although we didn’t see any big moves along the rail, so we will continue to look that over… but it appeared balanced inside to out and placement near the lead or near the back didn’t seem to offer an advantage.

The Turf played nicely on the inside and out… and speed was clearly okay.    For now we might want to think the turf course is a little early speed favoring… nothing wrong here either…

Rain came to Aqueduct…

While all the Turf races were able to be run on the Turf course, the track was “sealed” for the 9th race as the rain came before the 5th race and persisted on and off thereafter.  A big Atta-Boy to Aqueduct for leaving all the races on the Turf… but as for tomorrow, I highly doubt we will see them run on the turf, with the exception of Race #8, The Artie Schiller.  Let’s hope that one does stay on the turf…  I think it’s a very playable card…but check the conditions…

Opening day at Del Mar has arrive… once again…

We return to Del Mar for the Fall Season.  Once again, we have a first rate meet, but we have lot’s of particular peculiarities that make this meet somewhat quirky.  For example last year it was essential to be “wide” on the turf, where last year the Turf course played Honestly.  And if you recall to last year’s Breeders Cup the main track was very slow along the rail and we saw that this past summer for the opening couple of weeks.

My point, visit here regularly, I will be sharing my view of Bias and other handicapping essentials… trying to keep everything in a “nutshell”…

Take Three at Aqueduct…

For the 3rd day in a row, I am doing all the Turf races at Aqueduct, hoping they will be run on the Turf.  Note, there is a “predicition” that calls for “OCCASSIONAL SHOWERS in the AFTERNOON”.  With the lack of absolute certainty, I assume the best… but they do cave in very easily…. So remember your “Ps & Ms” and make sure you check conditions before you play…
