“V” for Victory…
Below is a reprint of Friday’s Power Page and Power Page-Plus. In the 4th race, my Top RATED horse was Tricked Up with a V of Value. Tricked Up ended up being rated 2nd in the Contenders List to my STAR horse Souperfast. Tricked Up ened up winning and paying a whopping $53.50 to win for $2.00. There were a total of only 4 V horses in the card… And for those who have faithfully followed us since they returned to Belmont, it’s become a really regular thing… surprising even to me!
But this is the most surprising, because the horse really figured, and he got the V because of the “wrong morning line” – my opinion… I say wrong, because he was co-Top rated on the JJPP Classic… And I don’t have to remind you that playing the 2nd horse on the Contenders List at 20/1 is smart, while not playing it to win is — I hate to say it – stupid!
The exacta came in the Giant Run, also on the Contenders List, while the STAR horse – Souperfast – reported home 3rd… did anyone say, box the contenders list…
