Sometimes it’s a little tough to get the Power Page but it’s always worth it. For those who had to wait for delivery until this morning, I think there was plenty of satisfaction as the cards progressed. The boon STAR horse in Belmont’s Race #2, Revealing moment paid a handsome $29.20, even after Ralph Siraco declared he was going to play that STAR horse. Good call by Ralph. But really the best play was at Santa Anita in Economy of Motion in the 6th race, who ran 2nd to Warren’s Sugarbuss who paid an amazing $112.60. Now pay attentions, I was not telling anyone to play Warren’s Sugarbuzz, I gave out Economy of Motion as a win and place wager and as I have said over and over again, it’s often a good idea, when playing a nicely priced horse like Economy, that it’s a GREAT IDEA to make part of your win/place wager an exacta wheel. You can’t always pick a longshot, but sometimes you can catch a longshot when you use the WHEEL. And that’s what happened today for a $404.00/1 exacta.
And there were plenty more…
Also, I must opine, I simply do not understand why Belmont cards so many Turf races when they have almost no commitment to the race and are willing to pull everything off the turf with the slightest give in the turf courses. They are only racing at Belmont a few more weeks, so what are they saving it for. Last week, the weather report scared them out of a whole card and a little moisture in the turf and we get a card of MTO’s and depleted races to be bored with…
If these guys ran racing in Europe, they would never get a race run is the way it looks to me…
