Great day of racing with some terrific results on the Power Page.  When Ralph asked me about the Frizette, I wasn’t ready to predict that Dreaming of Julie was going to be the second coming of Personal Ensign.  Ralph was quite right, Dreaming was an odds-on 1/5.  There was plenty of trouble by the gate with one of the fillies casting herself in the gate, so Dreaming got a big break, because she was never loaded and got to wait while not excited by the doings in the gate.  She needed the help of that edge, as she won by a hard earned head.  But she did win and she is a most beautiful filly.  She will almost always be one of the best looking, we have to see if she progresses along to be the MOST FAST as well.  Right now, I’m not that certain.

As mentioned on Ralph’s Race Day, we had rated Shanghai Bobby on Top with a STAR, there was another Star horse in the race in Goldencents.  I was totally surprised in the beginning of the wagering when Goldencents was short and Shanghai Bobby was sitting at 3/1.  Well, by post time the odds moved into alignment with my speed figures and ran accordingly, with Shanghai Bobby running a beautiful STAR QUALITY race and Goldencents running a much the 2nd best in here as the other STAR horse on the Power Page.  The exacta was $26.00 for $2.00 .  Shanghai was really good looking from through the stretch and I expect this will be a big figure race.   I am hoping they back off Shanghai Bobby now and point her for the KD and pass the BC…

 

While Dullahan was rated on top for his run in the Jamaica , I wasn’t that excited about him on the Turf with some give in it.  He seemed to be a synthetics preferred horse, now I would rate him as synthetics only with a willingness to use him at Churchill Downs, never at Belmont on the sandy surface.  He obviously will only put out when he likes the footing.  I get it…

 

My best value play of the day had to occur in the 6th at Belmont when Dual Citizen edged Gossip Column paying a whopping $64.00 for $2.00.  These two were rated 1 & 2 on the Power Page with GC in the first slot.
